Difference (from revision 2 to current revision) (minor diff)
(The revisions are identical or unavailable.)
The goal of this node is to develope a short description of konspire2b and kast that can be easily digested by non-technical people.

We have already been thinking about one-line descriptions:

  • Like TV, but everyone can run their own channel
  • You don't search for the files---the files come to you
  • Like a blog, but with virtually unlimited bandwidth

We are also working on a short multi-paragraph description for posting in announcements. Points that we need to cover:

  • passive receipt of content, and why it is good
  • channels and subscriptions
  • channel ownership
  • recommendations
  • intended uses and benefits
    • distribution of new content, or newly discovered content
    • zero-day distribution
    • preventing the slashdot effect
    • as an unlimited-bandwidth augmentation to a blog
  • existing p2p file sharing systems do not work well for these scenarios
